My name is Rayane Alvim, I’m a hand-lettering artist and illustrator from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I have a major in Graphic Design from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).

I’ve always been interested in Graphic Design. I know it sounds like a cliché thing to say, but it’s true. Ever since I was a teenager, I used Photoshop to create things. From creating things for my favorite artists, movies, and actors to actually realizing that Graphic Design could turn into a career path for me. I’m so glad I was born in the internet age because without it, I honestly don’t know where I would be. If it wasn’t for a hundred of tutorials, YouTube videos, old-age forums, I don’t know if my passion for graphic design would have sparkled.

When I was in my second year of college, I discovered hand lettering. I know it’s not a new thing. I mean, lettering has been around for ages. I just wasn’t exposed to it before, I didn’t know that it could be a career. I started digging around, started following a lot of hand lettering artists on Instagram and I was hooked.

I decided I want to draw letters for a living. I decided I didn’t want to be stuck at an office in front of a computer 24/7 as I said before. Lettering was kind of my way out of it.  So I started practicing, took a lot of online courses, watched, and read tutorials. When I was finally confident that I was producing good enough stuff, I started building an audience on Instagram.

I love to work on personal projects that sparkle my creativity. I love to create hand-lettered quotes and words. My goal is to bring letters to life. I love creating stuff with pop culture references, as I’m a TV show and movie addict!

I am open for new projects. Let's bring your creative ideas to life together!
